One of my favorite moments with God this week happened when we were doing a team building activity called ‘spiderweb’. If you haven’t done it, you definitely should! So, the goal is to get everyone through this ‘spiderweb’ of 9 or 10 sections, using each section only 3 times. Some people slid through. Others were lifted through…just depends on how you were sized up! 😉 So, from the moment we started, I had my eyes on a section on the bottom. I would easily get to slide through! Someone on the other side even pointed at it and told me I should use it.
Last second, I found myself being lifted up in the air, through one of the top sections, and carefully placed back on the ground on the other side. What the heck just happened!? The whole time, me and God were laughing. He was using this as a fun reminder that no matter how much we plan, and no matter how sure of things we have set up, things change. He has something planned that we didn’t see.
In this moment, specifically, he wanted me to rely on the people around me and trust them in ways I’ve yet to be challenged in (being lifted through a ‘spiderweb’, as a woman afraid of heights). And it was EXHILERATING. It ended up being one of my favorite moments this week.
That’s typically how life goes. Those ‘interruptions’ from God are actually the best parts. 🙂
I’ll be posting more about our first week later.
Happy Friday!
